FUN, FUN, FUN. The perfect accessory that brings color and shape together in a whimsical way. The necklace as shown is made using a variety of the David Christensen furnace glass beads. The great thing about this necklace is that no 2 links will look the same, though there is a basic pattern to the layout. The idea is yours to do with what you will. Start by laying out your glass beads in the "pattern" you wish. Next, it is time to create the links. BE AWARE...This piece uses THICK 14 guage SOFT sterling silver wire so you need to be able to bend this in order to create the links. THIS WIRE WILL BECOME HARD AS YOU BEND IT meaning it will be much harder to manipulate. With the full spool of sterling silver wire, add your bead(s) for the first link to the wire. You will then bend the wire end to make the first connecting loop. Move the beads up and finish off the other connecting loop for the link. Cut the wire. We recommend using a dual flush cutter (we will be carrying this item very shortly) so your ends will be clean and not pinched. Repeat this process for the rest of the links. Think outside the box when making your loops because you can make them as simple or ornate as you see fit and no 2 have to look the same. Each link is attached to the next by opening the end loops you created. Once you have the links finished, you will simply add the swivel lobster clasp to the last link. We have added a funky sterling silver star charm for another added touch of style. Add whatever accent you want or leave it plain. The finished length for the necklace as shown is 19". The length will vary as you make yours. Just be aware of what your piece's length is by measuring it as you go. The same construction process can be used to make a bracelet too. A wonderful way to put some of your personality into your accessories. Enjoy! |
