Fortunately, SWAROVSKI had let us know about the discontinuance ahead of time and that gave us ample time to find a suitable replacement. We decided to go with the PRECIOSA's maxima channel stones as the replacement, Maxima is Preciosa?s highest quality crystal product line. These are very similar in look and feel to those from Swarovski. Preciosa Maxima channel stones are lead, Cadmium and Nickel compliant as well. Please be aware that Preciosa has been making crystals lot longer than Swarovski has. Preciosa is based in Crystal Valley, Czech Republic.
It is worth mentioning that the plating and the bezel are the same as the ones on Swarovski. Plating has been done for us in the U.S. according to our quality standards for the last 8 years.
This 6mm stone based channel links (also known as connectors) are the most popular size. The ones based on Swarovski stones have been known to you as CLK6S series. We are calling the Preciosa stone based replacement as ELK6S series. E stands for European. For those who are not familiar with Preciosa brand, please know that Preciosa is the oldest manufacturer of crystals in Europe with its root from Crystal Valley in Czech Republic.
We sell these in all birthstone colors. Please note that this 6mm stone is not available in light siam or ruby color. So the siam color stone is used for both January and July birthstone months.
